Job titles

One list of the staff's job titles: manager, supervisor, accountant…

Open the page in EstateOS

What it is for

One list that each staff member's title is chosen from, on the Staff page and in the staff import; where messaging is on, WhatsApp campaigns to staff are filtered by it, and the title variable in their text comes from it.

Who uses it

The page opens for whoever holds “View job titles”, to look only, or “Manage people and staff”, to work in it. In the built-in roles: Owner, Manager. They are granted to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions.

Step by step

  1. Press “+ Add title”, and type the code and the name.
  2. To change a title: the pencil on its row. To delete it: the bin; it is restored from “Deleted”.
  3. To add many titles: “Import” from an Excel file.

How it works

The code is English letters, digits, dash and underscore, up to 20, saved in capitals, and not repeated in the office, even by a deleted title; it can be changed on edit. Only someone holding “Manage people and staff” adds, changes or deletes titles, and the staff count is who holds the title today. Deleting a title deactivates it: those who hold it keep it, and it leaves the choices on the Staff page and in the import. “Supervisory” describes the title and is stored with it; no screen reads it today. In an import a title is known by its code: a new code adds, an existing one updates, and an empty cell keeps what is stored.

On the page

  • Search by the title's name or code.
  • “Import” titles from an Excel file.
  • The titles, and the deleted ones.
  • Each title's code, name, type and number of staff. The pencil changes, the bin deletes.
  • “+ Add title”: the code, the name, and “Supervisory” where it applies.

Questions

Can I delete a title staff still hold?
Yes. They keep it, it leaves the choices, and it is restored from “Deleted”.
It says “Code already in use” and I don't see the code.
A deleted title holds it; restore it from “Deleted”.
What does “Supervisory” do?
It is only stored with the title; no screen reads it today.
